THE EFFECT OF FARTLEK TRAINING ON CHANGES IN HEART LUNG ENDURANCE IN FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF AL MADANI ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL, SEMARANG CITY

Abstract

Cardiopulmonary endurance is an important physical component for every athlete, especially football athletes. The heart and lung endurance of every football athlete is not yet completely in the good category. One way to increase cardiovascular endurance is to use fartlek training. Fartlek training is a speed variation exercise in one repetition. This study aims to determine the effect of fartlek training on heart-lung endurance with the independent variable fartlek training and the dependent variable of heart-lung endurance. This research includes experimental research. The population of this study were 20 students at the Al Madani Islamic Boarding School, Semarang City, who took part in football extracurriculars. The sampling technique in this research was total sampling. The sample used was 20 students. The instrument used is the VO2 Max test using the Multisage Fitness Test (Beep Test). Data were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software application. It was found that the results of fartlek training had a calculated t value of - 4.552. p = 0.000, because p < 0.05 there is a significant increase. Judging from the average value, the pretest average value = 39.6 and the posttest average value = 42.0, so there was an increase in aerobic endurance of = 2.40 or 5.7%. The conclusion of this research has a positive influence in the form of increasing the endurance of the lungs and heart of extracurricular football students at the Al Madani Islamic Boarding School, Semarang City. Suggestions for trainers to provide variations in fartlek exercises to increase heart and lung endurance and explain the material as a whole seriously and the benefits of the exercise. For players to always improve the training given by the coach and carry out it routinely and with discipline
